In the course of the trial some 400+ pages is email correspondence from Nigel Wright demonstrate the unsuccessful efforts to control the political damage flowing from the Conservative Senator’s improper claims for housing and other expenses. Ultimately, Nigel Wright uses a Gmail account to advise Prime Minister Harper’s Director of Issues Management, Chris Woodcock, that he will be repaying the $90,000. On March 8, 2013, Mr. Wright sends a Gmail message to Mr. Woodcock advising “For you only: I am personally covering Duffy’s $90K.”
